Flame reardent test for custom carpets

The carpets made and to be used for residential or commercial especially for hotels, is to be passed with one  very important tests called 16 CFR, Part 1630, this tests is also simliar to DOCFF -1-70 PILL test.

Our carpets have shown excellant result when we got the sample test of our production done. The criteria is that if it is below 1", its not good, but our carpet test shows 3.2-3.5 inch, which is very good and equivalent to First class result. We call our rugs, Flame Retardent Rugs

Besides this tests we also got some more tests done, and all came with excellant result :-

1. Colour fastness to washing wastness : IS/ISO 105-C-10:2006, METHOD A : This is also needed in many case. Its not only that you make the carpet, but its also must hat it should pass colour and washing fastness also. we did this.

2.  Abrasion test :wear and tear : IWS-TM-283 : The result was double good. The carpet yarn used in making the carpet should also be strengthful, to absorb the foot traffic, from medium to heavy this can easily bear the foot traffic

3. Hot metal Nut method : BS-4790-1987 : Its not only the carpet from top but also from other side, which has to be taken care. Radius of effected area maximum acceptable is 75mm. Our carpet result shwed 32, which is excellant.

Handwoven Cotton rugs-reversable

When anyone says that handwoven cotton rugs are suitable for places where the weather is hot or say moderate, this is nothing but a myth. Yes, the colouful cotton rugs are now becoming floor fashions. These rugs are flatwoven in different thickness and style. May be ribbed cotton rugs, muti pattern or tie and dye. Wow this tie and dye or may be batik print cotton rugs are very much appealing. See some image here and you will understand what we are saying. These cotton rugs are available in all sizes starting from 40*60 cms to 180*250 cms. There are also chances for making these cotton rugs with width of 400 cms, but what we have seen that width of rugs upto 180 cms are most common. These flatwoven cotton rugs are also known as reversable rugs.

There are many occassions when the client asks for making the rugs in silk or wool-silk yarn mix , this do not mean all the time that what they need is the original silk. When they need any thing which has good shinning, soft and luxurious feel and look, they choose these kind of rugs. This silk may be bamboo silk, faux silk or viscose or original silk. When the client specifically states that they need original silk yarn for the rugs then one should made this, otherwise there are many chances of confusion in prices. These hand-knotted tibetan rugs in silk are appropriate in 80 knots. Though we also make in 100,120,150 or 200 but it always depends how the design and pattern of the rugs are. When we talk about the wool, we also have different kind of wool as options to be used in making rugs. It always depends on where the rug has to be placed. Whether the rug you need is for normal traffic area, medium traffic area or high traffic area? It’s the fibre of wool, the length and type of which counts. For example newzealand wool has long fibres and is always recommended for high traffic areas. This wool fibre passes under some system, of which semi-worsted is the best of the best for high traffic area. The rugs made of this yarn have high lusture, soft feel and high durability. When you want to choose the rug for medium traffic area even blended yarn can also be used to make the rug. This blended yarn when we talk we say 50-50, mean 50% Indian wool and 50% newzealand wool. The most common factor in viscose carpet or say artificial silk carpet is that the yarn sheds. Viscose yarn is high in shine but is weak when it get in touch with water. This is a normal feature but when we talk for high end clients, we should not offer them this yarn. Now the issue is when the shinning is high what more can be done to remove its disadvantages. We have acheived this issue with some blending of yarn we have reduced this shedding to very very less, say 1%. The additional advantage is that this yarn is also fire retardent.
